Four foolproof ways to drive traffic to your affiliate sales page

Whether you’re an affiliate marketing newbie or someone who has been around the block a few times and knows their EPC from their CPC, the chances are you know that the holy grail of this business is traffic, traffic and more traffic.

You could have the best blog, the sexiest website that oozes appeal, the nicest graphics and the longest email sequence on the planet…

BUT if you can’t get people to visit your site, you’ll never make a single sale…

And its GAME OVER!

If you can drive thousands of targeted viewers, however, it is almost impossible not to make at least a little bit of money, and more than likely a good income.  With that in mind, I’ve put together these four crazy, foolproof ways to get traffic to your landing page, so you can start making money.

Now, keep in mind, you want to have a high-quality landing page already set up so the traffic will convert into sales. A cheap “knock-off” one that looks like my granny put it together wearing a blindfold, just won’t cut it in today’s bustling marketplace.

Without this, you’ll just be wasting time and money getting people to visit your site and browse away.

Why do I say this?

Well, that’s exactly what I did when I first started.  So, if you don’t already have what you believe is a great landing page that will convert, take a step back and go address that first.

One final thing to mention before diving in, these strategies will work.

Every time.

If you combine a good landing page with any/all of these recommendations, it will be almost impossible to fail (as long as you’re not promoting a crap product).  That being said, however, it will take some trial and error, and you certainly won’t get rich overnight, and anyone who says otherwise is “pulling your chain” and looking to sell you a “dream” that doesn’t exist.

To be Frank (who’s Frank btw and why do we use that phrase…), you might even lose a bit of money over the first few weeks, but fear not my brave warrior!   There is a learning curve, and the best way to figure it out is to dive right in.

So check out the 4 strategies here:

Traffic Source #1 – Facebook

I know what you’re thinking, oh great, another social media die-hard pushing Facebook posts as a way to get rich quick, right?  WRONG.  I don’t care if you ever make a post on Facebook or not, I’m talking about Facebook ads here.  Facebook ads give you instant access to more than a billion users per day from all over the world.  Their platform allows you to pick exactly who you want to see your ads, and display as many different ads to them as you want.

This is powerful…REALLY powerful.

Its TARGETTED traffic, and that’s the type you want.

If you told any of the affiliate marketers that this type of tool existed 10 years ago they would have literally killed you for access to it.  Today, most people just ignore it and look for the next push button get rich quick scheme.  Well, this really doesn’t get any easier.

Ok, yes, this will cost you some money up front, and yes, you’ll make mistakes and waste some of that money.  All you need to do, however, is start running three or four different ads per day with a small budget ($5 on each ad is more than enough to test each one). Make each ad different in some way.

This could be the call to action, the colours, the image, the landing page, it doesn’t matter what.   Now, while running the campaigns, keep track of EVERYTHING and see what converts best.

Learn from mistakes, and repeat successes.

I remember running ads for a weight loss product, and my best converting ad was a buxom woman eating a cream cake!. … and the strapline was “ I love a bit of cream.” Crazy.

Once you’ve got a few ads that have proven to convert well, start scaling up your daily investment on those ads, while continuing to test on the other ads with small dollar amounts.

Over time, you’ll have dozens of ads that allow you to turn $5 into $10 in a very reliable way.  Of course, if you can do that, you can also turn $500 into $1000…Or $5000 into $10,000.

You get the picture.  So the key here is TEST TEST TEST.

Traffic Source #2 – Pay Per Click (Google)

Whether you use Google or any other PPC ad network, you can choose exactly which search phrases you want your ad to show up on.  Be careful though because the costs can soon mount up, and the results are a little less predictable. Take the same approach as I suggested with Facebook ads. Start small and then scale it up once you’ve found success.  And remember, TEST TEST TEST!

Google PPC tends to be high so I’d recommend going the Facebook route first.  Once you’ve got some extra money coming in, fire up some Google ads because Google drives a ton of traffic.

Traffic Source #3 – Blog

Not having a blog is like a cowboy not having a horse. A random comparison I know, but it’s the first one that popped into my head.

You should have a blog set up to help drive traffic and build relationships.  This is a much longer-term approach, but it can be done at the same time as Facebook or Google ads.  Your blog is your relationship platform and it’s your identity.

Writing high-quality posts with have good keyword density, and promoting the blog as much as possible will eventually lead to traffic, which you can then get to sign up for your list, and market to for years to come.  …and don’t forget its FREE (other than the small hosting fees for your site).

I admit that I neglected mine for a long time until my mentor

Dean Holland gave me a kick up the backside.

I now realise just how powerful the platform can be. I’m rolling out a ton of new content on mine as I write this.

If you are dedicated to long-term success, you really NEED to set up a blog today and keep it updated.  Even if you don’t post every day or build links consistently, having it up and growing as a resource now will allow you to capitalize on it down the road.

If you haven’t started your blog yet, spend the $15 ($10 for a domain name, $5 for hosting) now and get it going.

You won’t regret it.

Traffic Source #4 – Trending Technologies

This one can be tricky, but it shouldn’t cost you much if anything to do.  What you need to do is keep your ‘ear’ to the ‘ground’ about all the latest websites and technologies online.  Try to get in on them as early as possible, and build up followers.  For example, if you had gotten in on Pinterest before it got huge, you could have had tons of followers from very early on.

Even if you didn’t market to them at first, you would have a gold mine today. But it’s not too late to start. I’ll share with you in a later email a simple 4 step method to build your following.

The fact is, there are new social media sites springing up on a daily basis.  Even if you sign up for a number of them, and they fail, keep going.  You just need one to work out right and you’ll have an amazing traffic source for the rest of your life.

Now go and take ACTION

That’s about it, quick and simple.  None of these methods are the secret “sauce” that will transform your business overnight, nor are they hard to implement.  Just remember the tale of the tortoise and the hare. We’re building a long-term business and a long-term strategy.

If you can’t take action with this, you’re over thinking it my friend. You won’t get rich sitting around reading about how to get rich, you need to DO SOMETHING, and do it now.

My mentor always drums it into us, take action even if it’s IMPERFECT ACTION.

Get it out there because you can always go back and tweak it.

But you can’t tweak “nothing.”
